This trail features animals (Mule deer), birds (Bald Eagle, Falcon, Turkey vulture), flowers and views.
Comments
Although this hike has been rated as "Can be done at any time of the year" this is highly dependent on the ferry schedule. Check for days with suitable sailings or make arrangements to stay in a bed and breakfast on the island (check the BC Accomodations Guide).

History
The mountain is named after a pioneer settler who purchased land on Saturna Island in 1886, including the mountain. Pike was an author and explorer, he apparently committed suicide on Oct.20, 1915, there is a brass cairn at the north end of Dease Lake commemorating him.
