Description

Claremont Ave, De Monte (take path on left leading to a chip trail, go right on chip trail into Claremont Park (left might also lead to Claremont Park with the advantage of avoiding a noisy dog in a yard).

On the south side of Claremont park access Haliburtin Place and take path to ?. Head right and take path to Wesley Ave. Turn right onto "No Exit" road and continue past "No public access" sign. Either:

a. Take path on left side of road (use caution, narrow gate at end). Take 1st right on

Amblewood and continue until you come to a spot where a chip trail crosses the road.

or b. Continue on to gate, work way thru gate and along to chip trail. Follow chip trail to

where it crosses Amblewood (caution, steep hill).

Here the routes join again only to offer another alternative:

a. Follow Amblewood down to Lochside.

or b. Continue down the chip trail. The first portion has a steep drop off at the end, the next

few involve steep hills, some having large boulders at the end. Proceed with caution!

Regardless, continue down to Lochside and turn right to join up with Amblewood.

Continue south on Lockside and cross Royal Oak Ave. Continue on road which quickly becomes a dirt path. Watch out for puddles and horse droppings. Take 1st road on left up to Blenkinsop Ave, follow this (using the cycling path at the side) until you come to Mt Douglas Cross Road. Take this up to Braefoot and follow this to Simon. Take Simon to where it curves to the left, on the right there is a footpath, follow this and take the pedestrian/cyclist bridge over McKenzie.
