Thelwood Creek Bridge Trailhead: Take highway 1 north from Victoria to Nanaimo where it becomes highway 19, continue north to Campbell River where you turn west onto highway 28 (to Gold River). Follow this until you enter Strathcona Provincial Park. Take the Westmin Resources Road and continue until you get around the south end of the lake. Watch carefully for the signed trailhead.

Description

This trail is only suitable for advanced hikers. It can serve as a day hike if you turn around at the log crossing. The trail beyond the log crossing is steep, rough and usually snow covered until late summer.

The trail follows a gravel road for the first 3km from Buttle Lake and then begins a relentless assault up towards Cream Lake.
