Whistler Trailhead: (190 km from Saanich Hall, ferry required). Distance quoted is via the Swartz Bay/Tswassen ferry rather than the Nanaimo/Horseshoe Bay route.
Take highway 17 north from Victoria to Swartz Bay and catch the ferry to Tswassen. From the ferry terminal at Tswassen drive north on 17 to 99 and head into Vancouver. Follow Oak Street and watch for the signs to Stanley Park and the Lion"s Gate bridge. From the bridge follow the signs to highway 1 and take it west to where 99 departs from it heading north to Whistler via Squamish. In Whistler drive to the gondola lift and park in the large parking lot below the lifts. If you are backpacking make sure you park in the lot allocated for overnight parking (at the time of writing this was lot 4).
Facilities available at the trailhead include:
| Backpack | Moderate. | Best from late June thru late September. | |
| Dayhike | 3 boot (moderate). | 3 hours one way. | Best from late June thru early October. |
One could opt to return via the Singing Pass trail but the views returning are well worth retracing your steps. Make sure you leave enough time to make the last gondola ride down, missing it means a long, arduous, boring walk down the Whistler service road.
To backpack this route one needs to get to Russet Lake, 2km beyond Singing Pass.
