Goldstream Trailhead: (18 km from Saanich Hall). Drive west from Victoria on Highway #1 to Goldstream park. Park in the main parking lot. (A $3 parking fee is charged.)
Bus access:Take bus 50 and transfer to 58 at Canwest Mall (this bus has limited service so check in advance). Ask the driver to drop off at Goldstream park. The drop off is at the Goldstream campground so you have to walk about 20 minutes to the main parking lot.

Description

Walk east across the bridge on Finlayson Arm Road, the trail begins on your right a short distance after the bridge. Take the stairs up and continue along taking the first fork to your left (up). Continue to a rock wash and head up the wash (again to your left). For those wanting to reach the summit avoiding the steep, exposed rocky climb consider hiking the trail up the backside.

In 2003 development of a golf course and housing development in the Skirt Mountain area marred the formerly magnificent views from this trail. Imagine, if you can, the vista looking out over forests to the city and strait in the distance.
