Goldstream Trailhead: (18 km from Saanich Hall). Drive west from Victoria on Highway #1 to Goldstream park. Park in the main parking lot. (A $3 parking fee is charged.)
Bus access:Take bus 50 and transfer to 58 at Canwest Mall (this bus has limited service so check in advance). Ask the driver to drop off at Goldstream park. The drop off is at the Goldstream campground so you have to walk about 20 minutes to the main parking lot.

Description

Walk east across the bridge on Finlayson Arm Road, the trail begins on your right a short distance after the bridge. Take the stairs up and continue along taking the first fork to your left (up). Continue to a rock wash and head up the wash (again to your left). From the summit exit to the north and head down the trails to Finlayson Arm Road. Walk back down the road to the parking area.

In 2003 development of a golf course in the Skirt Mountain area has marred the views from this trail. A housing development is also in the works. :(

Some exposure (steep dropoffs)
some scrambling is required

There is some minor scrambling up rocks which can be very slippery if wet. Be alert for vehiclew when walking back down Finlayson Arm Rd.
