Mt Douglas Park Trailhead: (8 km from Saanich Hall). Take McKenzie Ave east to Shelbourne, turn north (left) on Shelbourne and drive for approx 2 km until you come to the park. Proceed through the park (on the lower main road) to a large parking area on your right just past Ash Road.

Glendenning Road Trailhead: (alternate start).Take Darwin Ave to Saanich Road, turn left and drive north to McKenzie Ave. Turn right and drive east to Blenkinsop Road (the 3rd traffic light after turning onto McKenzie Ave). Turn left on Blenkinsop and drive north to Mt Douglas Cross Road (the second road on your right). Turn right and drive to the top of the hill and turn left onto Glendenning Ave (the first road on your left). Drive to the end of the road and park in the small parking area.

Churchill Road Trailhead: (alternate start, 7 km from Saanich Hall). From the hall drive north on highway 17, take the 1st exit (McKenzie Ave) and head east to Shelbourne, turn north (left) on Shelbourne and drive for approx 2 km until you come to Mt Doug Park. The parking area is at the base of the road leading to the summit (very close to the park entrance on Shelbourne).

Description

There are two other trailheads with limited parking, one at the north end of Glendenning Rd (off Mt Douglas Cross Road) and the other near the north end of Cedar Hill Road.

Features

This trail features animals (Deer), birds (Bald eagle, Brown creeper, Golden crowned kinglet, Pileated woodpecker, Ruby-crowned kinglet), forests (Arbutus, Douglas fir and Western red cedar) and views.
