Description

There are two trails which climb from the parking lot to the summit of Mill Hill, the Arbutus Trail leaves the north end of the parking lot near the fence bordering the Capital Regional District Equipment yard. After a couple of hundred meters there is a fork in the trail, stay right. The trail climbs at a moderate grade to a couple of view points before finally reaching the summit. The views from these view points are actually better than that from the summit itself.

Descending you may opt to take the Calypso Trail. This trail branches off near the summit and is somewhat more difficult than the Arbutus Trail with a couple of sections of rock crossings and one very minor .5m descent down a rock faced gully.

There is also the option to go north on the Calypso Trail and connect with the trails in Thetis Lake Regional Park.

Features

This trail features activities (Bird watching), flowers (Blue camas, Calypso orchid, Satin flower, Shooting star, Spring gold, Tiger lily and White fawn lily), forests (Arbutus, Douglas-fir, Garry oak (Approximately 20 hectares) and Western red cedar) and views.
