This section of the Lochside Trail passes through downtown Sidney before parelleling highway 17 and skirting past McDonald Park (now part of Gulf Islands National Park Preserve) and reaching the Swartz Bay ferry terminal with routes to Mayne Island, Galiano Island, Pender Island, Salt Spring Island, Saturna Island and Tswassen.
