Lake O'Hara

The Lake O'Hara region of Yoho National Park contains some of the most beautiful scenery in all the Canadian Rockies. The turquoise waters of the lake are only the start, many kilometers of trails, ranging from easy walks to rugged hikes start from the shores of the lake and spiral out in all directions. For an easy walk around the lake there's the Adeline Link Circuit. More challenging but still not too difficult trails lead to Lake McArthur, Lake Oesa and Opabin Plateau.

For those seeking a more challenging route the All Souls, Odaray/Grandview, Wiwaxy Gap and Yukeness Ledges alpine routes all offer spectacular views. If these routes don't pose enough of a challenge then the climb to the Abbott Pass hut offers yet another degree of difficulty with mountaineering possibilities beyond that for those with the skills and knowledge to attempt the peaks.
