Elfin Lakes Trailhead: Follow highway 99 to Mamquam Road, 4km north of Squamish. Turn right and follow this road past the Squamish Golf and Country Club to a logging road just after the Mashiter Creek bridge. Follow this logging road to the trailhead (distance from highway 99 to the trailhead is 16km). (A $3 parking fee is charged.)

Description

The Paul Ridge trail to the lakes begins as an old logging road for the first 4 kilometres to the Red Heather Day Shelter and Campground.

Mountain bikes are allowed on the trail up to the campground just beyond the lakes but not beyond.

In winter ther route is marked by orange snow poles from Red Heather to Elfin Lakes. Whiteouts make route finding along the open ridge very difficult.

Features

This trail features animals (Black bear, Deer), flowers (Fireweed, Golden aster, Lupine and Sitka Valerian), forests, glacial views, lakes, meadows, miscellaneous (Hut accomodation Operates on a first-come, first-served basis., Pets prohibited), mountains, swimming, views and Swimming is permitted in the first lake only, the second is the water supply for the campsite.
