The time estimiate is to the tarn enroute to the summit, form there there are a number of unofficial routes to the summit. The majority of the elevation gain is in the first 3km, it feels like the climbing will never end.
Features
This trail features forests (Douglas-fir and Western red cedar), lakes, mountains and views.
Hazards
- Some streams are crossed on footlogs
- Snow lingers well into the year in higher elevations
Club Comments
The distance to the trailhead precludes doing this as a normal Club day hike, it was done in 1994 as part of a weekend trip staying at Strathcona Park Lodge and could equally well be done as part of a car camping trip.
Where the trail crosses a creek on a log at about 550m is often the last source of good water until you reach the lake at the summit.
