MacMillan Blowdell Copper Canyon Gate Trailhead: (75 km from Saanich Hall, 4wd recommended). This is just the access point for the general copper canyon area. The total distance will depend on how far you can drive beyond the gate due to snow conditions (all distance beyond the gate should be considered logging road km"s). Drive north on the Trans-Canada highway from Victoria through Duncan and past the turnoff to Chemanius. Turn left at the next light (along an industrial service road). At the junction continue straight to the gate and check in with the gate keeper. NOTE: This area is only open to the public on weekends and there is a $2 fee (as of 1999).

Skiing in this area is on logging roads although the road itself provides access to Mt Brenton and Reinhart Lake.
