Description
This is not the official name for this trail. At the time the article was written we did not know what it is.
The trail is really a decommissioned road. It is a very easy hike with some elevation gain. From the parking area either walk back to the gate on the north side of the parking area (near the entrance) or go to the bottom of the parking area and take the trail that leads uphill. These two trails soon join and continue through a mixed forest predominatory Douglas Fir with some Arbutus and Garry Oak nearer the shore. The trail continues along with a couple of side paths before coming to the point itself. The point is on a midden and has very nice views towards Vancouver Island as well as north toward Maxwell Point. To the south the view are of Burgoyne Bay itself.
There are some small tide pools at the point but these are not much when compared to tide pools in other areas.
Features
This trail features birds (Bald eagle, Belted kingfisher), flowers, forests (Arbutuus, Douglas fir and Garry oak), marine mammals (Seal), meadows and views.
