Illecillewaet Campground Trailhead: (600 km from Saanich Hall, ferry required). Drive through the campground. Follow the hiker signs to the cabin behind the campground.

Description

Turn right at the Alpine Club of Canada"s Wheeler Hut and follow the road across the Illecelewaet River to the trailhead.

The trail is relatively flat for the first 4 km and then begins a quick ascent up the crest of a glacial morraine.

This trail passes junctions with several trails, stay left at the first junction ("Abbott Ridge Trail" (.1km 1250m)) and then keep right at each of the following junctions: "Meeting of the Waters Trail" (~.3 km, 1260m), "Great Glacier" (~.4 km, 1300m), "Glacier Crest" (just past bridge over Asulkan Brooke, ~1.2 km, 1325m).
